One of the things that surely has to concern any long term Chelsea fan is the lack of first team breakthroughs we've had in terms of home grown/developed talent. It's a big problem for everyone in the Premiership and Chelsea are no exception, so the departure of Scott Sinclair today definitely has to be considered disappointing. Fairplay to Swansea for taking a risk and smashing their transfer budget on a relatively unproven 21 year old.
The lad looked pretty good when on loan in the lower leagues but never really got going when he was given a first team call-up in the big league. He always looked small and fairly fragile, but possessed the type of pace badly required in the squad at the moment. Nonetheless I think at the age of 21 he has got a great future ahead of him at Swansea.
Hopefully another promising young English player in the Chelsea ranks, Michael Mancienne, isn't sold to Wolves. With Joe Cole gone, A-Cole's future a big uncertainty and Lampard/Terry getting older, we don't want to end up like Arsenal!
